Resources

 

Collection: A collection of over 23,000 books is available for consulting and borrowing. The library's online catalog lists books available in the library along with their call number. The library subscribes to around 100 magazines and journals covering a wide variety of subjects and interests. New books, current journals and a recreational reading collection are displayed near the circulation desk.

 

Online Resources: The library provides access to over 70 online resources, including encyclopedias and databases of journal articles. Many of these resources provide access to full-text information. Online resources are available from any computer with an Internet connection through the library's web site.

 

Reserves: Reserve materials including class readings, are kept at the circulation desk and have a shortened loan period.

 

Services

 

Reference: Librarians are available in the library and via email to help you locate information and use library resources. Guide to researching popular topics and using many of our resources are available in the library and on the intranet.

 

Instruction: The library offers lectures and hands-on classes in the use of the library and its resources, searching the Internet and the research process. Classes are provided by librarians at the request of faculty, campus departments or student organization.

 

Interlibary Loan: Materials not owned by the library are available for free through interlibrary loan. Requests typically take 3-10 days to fill. Books are borrowed from another library and loan periods vary depending on the loaning institution's policies. Journal articles are provided as photocopies and are yours to keep.
